What Sartoria stores in your browser, what we collect, who we share it with, and how to change your mind.
Who we are.
Sartoria is a curated marketplace for archival fashion, operated by Sartoria LLC at sartoriamarket.com. For anything in this policy — questions, requests, complaints — write to [email protected].
What we collect.
Your account: email address, username, name, and anything optional you add — avatar, location, size preferences, followed houses.
Your marketplace activity: listings and their photos, offers, orders, messages and message photos, reviews, wanted posts, favorites, saved and recent searches, and who invited whom — the invite graph is how a closed marketplace stays accountable.
Payments: all payments run through PayPal. Card numbers never touch our servers. We store order amounts, PayPal transaction identifiers, and — for sellers — the PayPal merchant account the payouts go to.
Shipping: tracking numbers and carrier delivery events, so both sides of an order can see where the package is.
Technical: IP addresses and browser details appear in server logs, rate-limiting counters, and error reports — the ordinary exhaust of running a website securely.
Essential cookies — always on.
Three first-party cookies the site cannot work without: your sign-in session, a technical session used during redirects, and the cookie that remembers your cookie choice itself. They identify you to Sartoria only, are never used for analytics, and are not shared with anyone.
Analytics cookies — only if you accept.
If you accept, we load PostHog, our analytics tool. It sets one cookie so we can understand how the marketplace is used — which pages are visited, where flows break — and improve it. If you decline, or simply never choose, PostHog does not load and no analytics cookie is ever set. Declining also stops us from recording any analytics about your visits while you're not signed in.
What we collect from members.
When you use your account, our servers record the product events that make the marketplace run and let us improve it — listings published, offers made, orders placed — along with basic request context (IP address, browser type). This happens regardless of your cookie choice: it involves no cookies and covers only your own account activity, processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the marketplace.
Who we share it with.
Service providers that run parts of the marketplace for us: PayPal (payments), AfterShip (shipment tracking), PostHog (analytics), Honeybadger (error reporting), our email delivery provider, and our hosting and image-storage providers. Each receives only what its job requires. Other members see what you publish — your profile, listings, reviews, and the messages you send them. We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising on Sartoria.
Retention & deletion.
We keep your data while your account exists. Email [email protected] to delete your account: we remove your personal data, keeping only what completed orders legally and financially require (transaction records), and the moderation trail if your account was involved in one.
Your rights.
Ask us any time to see the data we hold about you, correct it, export it, or delete it — one email to [email protected] does it. If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, these are your GDPR rights and we honor them for everyone regardless of location.
Change your mind any time.
Resetting your choice deletes the analytics cookie and brings the banner back on your next page, where you can accept or decline afresh.
Changes to this policy.
When our actual practices change — a new provider, a new kind of data — this page changes with them, and a material change to what "accept" covers re-prompts the cookie banner for everyone.
